More Valentine Sweet Treats

These are the simplest cute little treats made with the Petal Card Sizzix die cut.
I used the Sending Love glittery DSP the sheet that is pink and vanilla.
The sentiment is from the NEW stamp set in the Occasions Mini catty
Well Scripted and punched out with the Full Heart punch adhered with a dimensional on top of that beautiful silky smooth NEW satin 5/8" pretty in pink ribbon.
Inside- I topped off the treat with the NEW heart embosslit and the small heart stamp from
(I) Heart stamp from the NEW Occassions Mini and popped out with the must have NEW small heart punch. Wrapped the Ghiradelli chocolate with the flip side of the front DSP.

This lil ditty I saw on Deann Oliver's blog, I have two versions. One with the paper I had left over from the Cocoa speciality paper I love this pattern I saved it for Vday's.
I used the new scallop trim border punch on the top flap, our 5/16' asst brads in white and underneath I have velcro to keep the flap shut. The sentiment from Short & Sweet Stamp set backed with modern label punch and movers and shapers die cut. The ribbon is sticky stripped underneath the flap to make a lil purse like handle. This will be one of Stamp camp projects.

This one is in the Sending Love DSP, using the NEW epoxy pretty in Pink brads from Occasions Mini catty with sentiment from Wishing You a Happy Heart stamp set in real red ink popped out with the modern label punch(a must have punch, so many sentiments fit in this punch!)

I think this is so elegant. Again I used the petal card die cut. I die cut two of them and cut a 1/2 inch off two flaps and joined them together with sticky strip and put the brads in for sturdiness. It is rather flappy around the top still though. Maybe I will double it up with CS behind it next time. I used a library clip to keep the top closed, you can also feed a ribbon through where the brads are and hang it as an ornament type deal.

Side view, I filled it with confetti paper and dove hearts.

My Build A Bear Mommy & Me Class

I held a Mommy & Me (Grandma & Me ) class on Martin Luther King Day since the kids were out of school. I made each child a tin like the one above.
Supplies: Sending Love DSP, Real Red CS, Regal Rose CS
Accessories: I did not have the additional sizzlit for her hair bow, purse and belt(I was so bummed) so I got my punches out and started playing with them to create a purse that would fit into this schematic. The designer label punch is her purse folded in half with a lil ribbon sticky stripped down inside and then a brad put thru it.
  • I also used the NEW little heart punch for the heart on her shirt.
  • The Heart on her hand is the NEW heart embosslit in the Occasions Mini with Happy Valentines Day sentiment from the Wishing You a Happy Heart stamp set.
  • Popped out with the modern label punch.

Using My Build A Bear die cuts, I gave them each 3 bears. along with shirts, skirt, and shoes, and the materials to make the purses. These were in a clear envelope sealed shut in their box for after we were through making the VDAY cards.

This is a picture of a 3.3/4 x4 pocket card with a 3x3 lil Vday card inside. the parents made the pocket cards while the kids colored their Valentines I had already stamped for them below.

Each child received 5 cards fronts to color and then the layers to assemble to the cards. When they were all done coloring and blending their Beary Best Friend image they got to visit the glitter station where the two way glue was set up with the Dazzling Diamonds. BOY kids love glitter.
The parents and the kids were thrilled and asked if we could do this again soon!
The key for success with this project was I did alot of the prep work by making the tins in advance(only four sets of them) and stamping the bears on the 2-3/4x 2-3/4 white CS so they could immediately start coloring and not mess around with the stamping on such a small surface.
We were done in two hours and everyone was thrilled. I also put some candy in the tins as well. Pixie sticks always a hit!!

I am doing a project for my daughters GS Brownie troop on 2/2/10 and I definitely think these lil bears will be so cute dressed up in Brownie gear. I have a pack of paper specifically made for Girl Scouts , so I think I will dress them in official uniform and add the Hearts to make the Brownie Valentine Bears!

Hope you enjoy!!

If you are interested in purchasing some of these tins we got them on a major going out of business sale they are $2.00 each plus shipping email me at www.whitneyrichardson1969@gmail.com to place your order.

"Come on Ride Choo Choo Train"

I haven't had this much fun in a really long time!
I spotted this brilliant creation on Gretchen Barron's site. But then I had to figure out how to make it from her post. So 5 hours later and alot of back pain here is my version of The Valentine train! I definitely am going to cut down on the number of cars. I thin after the Engine only two cars are needed. But hey I am a creative addict I had to see how many cars I could get on this baby! Check out Gretchens original creation at the link below.
**Just to clarify I did not buy the kit or the directions!!
The train is created with some of Sizzix die cuts( Box #2, milk cartons) and many Stampin' UP! Exclusive punches! 1 3/4 circle , 1 3/8 circle, 1 1/4 circle. Then the wheels are stamped with the stamp set with all my Heart, I thought that made wonderful wheel spokes. The NEW epoxy brads from the Occasions mini catty.
Card Stock:Designer paper is Sending Love and Regal, Chocolate chip, Pretty in Pink and Real Red.
Stamp sets:
Well Scripted, You &Moi, Three Little Words
The NEW I Hearts clear mount stamp set
Accessories:
The NEW Heart Embosslit Die and the Full Heart Punch and filled my carts with all kinds of chocolate goodies sandwiched in between.
I used the new scallop border punch from the Occasions on the carts and the small new heart punch for embellishment, modern label, oval, window word punch. I think I used almost every punch somewhere!!

This has been so much fun to make and I cannot wait to give these as Valentine gifts!!
Imagine filling it up with all these goodies for a co-worker, neighbor, teacher, friend, etc...
This is going to be our AMAZING STAMP CAMP PROJECT ON JANUARY 30TH!!
class space is limited deadline for registration is the 20th. class fee is $30.00 and this isn't the only goody we will be making!!
Stay tuned for further previews of what is coming soon!!

Moving and Shaking on the Cottage Wall

I made this gift set for my husband while he was recovery in the hospital from hand surgery. you can see my sleepy eyed little one Ansleigh in the background waiting for Mom to finish picture taking and get her breakfast!
The box was filled lots of his favorite candies!
Card Supplies:
I used the Movers and Shakers XL Die cut to cut out this perfect card
measuring 4 1/4 x11 scored at 5 1/2 " in Rich Razzleberry. I also used the Movers and Shapers Heart Die to get that perfect heart in the center of the card. Then I cut out another heart in Orchid Opulence to put inside the heart for contrast. Make sure to stick the heart inside while your card is closed with a little dotto, dimensionals do not work it needs to be flat to open and close good. TIP:Also, Put all your Designer paper on your card first before running it through the big shot to do the heart. Its very hard to try to go back and line everything up afterward.
CS:Rich Razzleberry, Cottage Wall DSP, whisper white, old olive
INK: Ochid Opulence
Accessories: Big shot, Matchbox XL die to make the label, modern label punch and Movers and shakers die cut using the modern label as a background for the punch piece to set the sentiment on. I also used a small butterfly from the NEW Butterfly embosslit
coming in the NEW Occasions Mini catalog on Jan 5th. I love that embosslit. It gives you 5 embossed butterflies in all different sizes. super cool ladies!
I also used the NEW Vintage Vogue stamp set launching in the Mini. Topped it off with some Razzleberry polka dot ribbon and Viola'.
For the box: (2,5,7,10 box can be found on SCS under resources)
  • Score a 8.5 x11 sheet of cardstock at 2,5,7,10
  • then turn it and score the 8.5 side at 2" and fold up use sticky strip to adhere.
  • Cut out a designer topper with the Cottage Wall DP in the form of a Top Note adhere the top note to the back of your box on the outside back with sticky strip
  • then use your cropadile and put two holes in the top to run your NEW silky smooth Satin 5/8" Old Olive ribbon through to make your handle.
  • Adhere the pieces of ribbon inside the box with glue dots so it will stay down.
  • For the front I used a piece of velcro to keep the top down, but first I embellished it with a corduroy brad to make it purty!
  • I used the two hearts that were left over from the cut out heart from the Movers and shakers card and adhered them to the front of the box with dimensionals and applied the sentiment with orchid ink on whisper white.
The nurses loved them and all inquired about what I do. One of the nurses is even going to have a workshop and offered to put up a flyer in their break room advertising my classes.
God blesses us when we least expect it sometimes and we were VERY blessed to have my husband home in time for Christmas.
He had a rod go through his hand and in about a 1& 1/2 inches while working. He missed his carpultunal nerve by 1/2" which the Dr. said would have left him disabled in that hand. We go back today for his check up and hopefully he will be released to go back to work and they will not have to do another surgery.Long road of physical therapy and lite duty. I pray the numbness in his fingers will go away in time and there is no permanent nerve damage. Thanks to all for your prayers.
