Card Challenges from my Basics 101 group

This 411 sketch Card was made by Debbie Forguson in Vintage Vogue and matched the sketch to the letter! Beautiful bright colors.I love the positioning of the flowers. The use of her embellishments added the perfect touch.
Amy Monday displayed a beautiful combination of gray and white using the Spring Song SAB set as her sentiment. I love the way the bird is soaring. this card says: Peace, Serenity & Freedom!

WINNER!!

This card by Debbie Brown was the overall winner chosen by her club members
Vintage Vogue stamp set with the black, basic gray and whisper white color combo and her butterfly embosslit.

I recently taught a Basics 101 class to my BIG SHOT club which consisted of teaching cutting, measuring, and scoring.
  • How to look at a set of directions and follow them to measure, cut and make their own layouts. In class all their kits are prepared in advance(for time sake) and I felt that they would benefit greatly from learning a few simple techniques
  • Focal point and sentiment layering using Big shot die cuts
  • Simple rules of adhesives
  • How to cut cardstock for big shot projects

This has helped them to use the products they purchase more efficently. This is what seperates your Stampin' Up! Creative coach from the empty aisle you may be shopping on, it doesn't come with a person to guide you and teach how to use each product you purchase and spark those creative juices! I love my job! I love my group of Stampin pals, too! They make my job an absolute pleasure. God is good!

Boy, they are super card makers! They have met ever challenge I have sent them! I have been sending weekly challenges and at club I received tons of cards this month.
Friendly competion is a good motivator, plus doorprizes don't hurt? aay? LOL!!
Here are a few more....

Lynn Boyle will Rasberry Lemonade DSP and Rich Razzleberry and Polka dot Rasberry ribbon. She also used the Hummingbird from Spring Song as her focal point. Popular set among our group. Sentiment is from all My Heart (OMC) using the wide oval punch
Debbie Brown with a beautiful Noveau Chic stamped with the bird from Spring Song textured with the Finial Press and the butterfly portion of the Vintage wheel.

Lynn Boyle
check out the rose she made with the Fancy Favor punch, this is a challenge I gave her
personally and she "rose" to the occasion! Great job Lynne!

Lelsie Sharpe Designs created this one! I just love this motiff, since we are in Daytona Beach I thought it was too perfect! Love that raffia anf the lil hat.

Great job ladies! Keep checking your inbox for those challenges!
I look forward to your May club creations!!

May Stamp Camp

Big shots in action!
Deb Forguson having a blast making her gifts for her loved ones!

My fellow NCW member Pat Mozden is an absolute natural at crafting!!
Her very first class was an advanced stamp camp and she did a marvelous job her projects were simply gorgeous!!

These are the projects we made at stamp camp this month.

I am loving this basic gray and pretty in Pink combo, just waiting for pink Piroquette to come back! That will top it off perfectly.
This is a gift box that can be used for several things, such as a box full of cards for Mom or someome special so that a filled to the brim with your special homemade cards for them to use on special occasions. Or you can fill it with Bath & Body Works goodies, Chocolates and much more!

The lid opens from the front you can roller wheel white tissue paper with the Very Vintage wheel if you need filler for the box, that will make a nice element of decor to your box.
We used the Vintage Vogue stamp as the focal point on this box and we also had another style with a Mother's Day Sentiment to choose from, which was beautiful as well. you can see it in the first photo above

Then each person was able to make a card from two different designs.

Accessories:
Very Vintage wheel in basic gray ink, satin pink ribbon, matchbox die cut label, sentiment from Fifth Avenue Floral, and of course we had to have butterflies! Butterfly Big Z die cut and butterfly embosslits were used. Along with of course, some Pretties from the Pretties Kit, a half back pearl fits perfectly in the middle of the butterflies. The butterflies were embossed with the Manhatten impressions folder to give them texture and depth.

This card was easy peasy! The white base was textured with the Finial press and the pink with the NEW Lattice impressions & folder, which gives every piece of cardstock a textured look and feel! The front of the card the focal point was simply ran through the big shot with the Manhatten impressions folder which is a (MHIYS) item you can use it to create a card in 5 minutes!
For the sentiment we used the new Watercolor Trio stamp set from the SMC by far one of the favs. The scallop oval punch is gray and the sentiment is on white popped out with the medium oval.

The famous candy tin is always a hit especially at Holidays!
Everyone designed their tin uniquely and to fit their specific needs.
Mine is for a Mother's Day gift for my Mother in Law.
I used a basic gray top note cut twice to assemble my focal point on top then stamping the Happy Mother's Day Stamp from "All Holidays "(MHIYS) item in the Holiday section of the catalog.
Using the oval die cut , I cut the pink on the lg oval and the white on the medium oval using basic gray ink to stamp the sentiment.

Wrapped all the Nuggets with DSP 1x3 inches. You must wrap them in sticky strip nothing else works trust me!!

This is a little party favor or small gift made from the square scallop die cut with a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 piece of DP on top you must use sticky strip when you roll it dotto or snail will pull up, Use the cropadile and punch a hole in the scallop at the top and run satin pink ribbon thru it and tie. We added a sentiment from Water Color Trio with the small oval and the scalloped oval.
It has a mini Hershey's bar inside of it. But they could be so cute as a diaper shower favor, too cute!! I snagged this idea from one of my downline Linda Clendening when we had our downline meeting last week!!

Inside chocloate wrapped in DSP, with a label from the matchbox die cut and the sentiment from Elements of Style new stamp set.

Smooching Birds!

This is the first card I made using our new smooch sprays and the AWESOME Presto Papers!
the base of the card is Old Olive, then brushed gold, some old olive DSP(retired), a piece of Presto paper without any recessed lines in it, cut into a top note.
I was sooo excited to hear that the retired in color River Rock was coming back that I couldn't wait I pulled it out and ran the brayer over my River rock pad and
  • I brayed the top note with it and then sprayed some silver and vanilla smooch spray using my trusty color catcher (a must have in your stash item)using a sponge rubbed all in getting it to the tint I was looking for in this card.
  • then I embossed in gold using Encore gold metallic ink on the stamp from "Elements of Style "NEW stamp set from the SMC
  • Then I stamped out several birds and used the log cabin and gold to get just the right combo I was looking for, it is definitely a learning process and so much fun!! I must have made 10 birds before I chose these 2 for my card.
  • Now this is the coolest bow I have ever made, I was somewhat casing the card in the SMC on page 12. I really hope that is gold satin ribbon in the picture and it will make it's debut in the NEW Idea Book & Catalog in JULY 2010.
Hope you like, they will get better with time!
