My Nephew's Wedding!

A Wedding Scapbook tin, A Purse Gift Card Holder, A Wedding Card from February's card class.
Of course, I waited to the final moment to get these items sent out!
But, it's a funny thing I work better under the gun...happen to any of you. Once that burst of creativity starts flowing then I am on my way. I visited my gal pal Kay Sha's blog yesterday am and you won't believe what her post was? I was looking for a new gift card holder( I wasn't feeling the patterns I had) Yes, a wedding ensemble. She had the cutest purse pattern on there in a different motiff I changed it around a bit and I love the way it turned out!
check out Kay's design at http://creationsonpaper.blogspot.com/
The Bride and Groom Speciality Papers are for so much more than just weddings!
I played with my brayer a bit yesterday and Oh what fun to turn that beautiful white paper into whatever color you want with the recessed impressions on the paper. This is one of my Signature Design Scrap Book Tins in the Black and White Speciality paper
Top note on the front cut twice to make this shape and I just love this stamp for weddings embossed in silver ep and a filigree brad backed with dimensionals.
Join us for our Scrap book tin class on May 2nd! Or get your on the go kit and directions!
And make it on your own schedule! Check out the link on the right side of my blog for info on my kits to go!
Inside the tin you get 24 pages for pictures and journaling stored safely in a DVD tin.
It is a great gift for Showers, Weddings, Mother's Day, Father's day ....

This is the purse I made with the Bride & Groomsmen Black Speciality Papers.
Accessories: Simple Seriff Die cut letters, Hearts punch, Large Scallop die cut, Filigree brads, Black Organza ribbon I used the Top Note die cut and cut it twice with the Bride White Speciality Paper and I added a die cut adhesive from the Guest Book Simply Scrappin Kit,
The stamped "Together Forever" image
stamped with Versamark and black embossing powder heated up for that glossy shine popped out with the scallop oval punch placed on top of the Heart embosslit I put down to 2 hearts for a base. Then of course I had to use my butterfly die cut and butterfly embosslit (must have in your stash items)along with a half pearl from "The Pretties Kit"( another must have in your stash item.) Then you use sticky strip and a little black Velcro to hold it shut. The bottom note is where I put their Gift card.
I really hope they enjoy this gift. It came with alotta love and work.
That is what I love about handmade gifts people feel the love you put into them.

This card is very simple with an elegant feel to it.

Card Stock: Whisper White and Basic Black
Ink: Black
Accessories: Vintage Vogue wheel, eyelet border punch, black ink,
Well Scipted Words stamp set(OCM)
Black Satin ribbon, Butterfly die cut, half back pearl from the Pretties Kit
and I used my Scor-Pal to make the lines on the card base. Every 1/2 inch you just draw a line with your bone folder. Make your own embossed image!

This was the inside of the card- Black top note embossed with white craft ink and white embossing powder, make sure to use your embossing buddy ( a must have in your stash item) it removes the static electricity from your paper so you do not get those little flakes of embossing powder on your paper. Not pretty on black. This stamp is from the Together Forever stamp set.

I posted the 411 sketch from Gretchen Barron's website for my cutomers to particpate in and bring it to card class. I had 3 ppl submit their designs. I apologize Kendra I did not get a picture of your card on Sunday, but it was gorgeous!!
This one was made by one of my BIG SHOT club members, Lynn Boyle using Shades of Spring DP(OCM), Asian Artisry stamps set(HOSTESS) and Well Scripted words stamp set (OCM). She got to show off her new collection of watercolor crayons, her new butterfly embosslit and of course her XL Movers and Shapers die cut and magnets.Elegant Boquet embossing folder and her Heart punch too.!
Kudos to Lynn for using all her SU products!!
She really uses all her products and is very creative, a natural too.

Exciting News at SU!! Color Renovation!

A Color Renovation! This is super exciting news! All the color families have been revamped with 5 NEW beautiful colors, Returning In Colors and of course some of our favorite colors will be retiring. The new colors are so RICH looking. The most exciting part of this Color Renovation for me was the re-naming of ONE of my favorite cardstock colors! Kraft cardstock has a yummy name now! CRUMB CAKE! The best thing about the renovation is now with all the new in colors and the neutrals we will be able to get in a Craft Ink pad, Classic Ink pad, Marker, Crayon.
If you would like a word document of the Color Renovation email me.
Suggestion!- the reason these have been unveiled early is to give everyone an opportunity to stock up on all their favorite colors that will be retiring.
So grab your wish list and put all the ink pads(remember the ink pad you only ever have to purchase one, stock up on the re-inkers), cardstock and ribbon in the colors you cannot live without! Below are the colors we will be saying
"A Fond Farewell"
these colors will be available while supplies last so order them as soon as you can to be sure to get all the items you want!
Yes, 20 colors are retiring! Honestly their are a few that I will be sad to see go.
But the NEW exciting trendy colors SU has for us far out weighs my loss!
You know color coordination is my favorite part of crafting and now I have a ton of new color combo's to play with!! Whoo HOO!
This is what I love about SU they are always one step ahead!!

These are the Things I Love

This card was made by one of my customers Debbie Forguson!
I love the color combination in this card and the composition is very well laid out.
She used several techniques she has learned in her recent BIG SHOT club meetings and this card was a BIG HIT!
It features the stamp set she received as a Saleabration gift "Things I Love"
  • Base is basic black card stock embossed with Finial Press
  • Scallop trim border punch (another FREE SAB gift) with Orchid Opulence layered up with basic black on the top
  • Hugs Sending Love Note that I gave each club member and challenged them to use in a card and bring it back to class to win a gift!
I think Deb did an amazing job creating a card using the Hugs note card as a focal point and demonstrating all her SAB goodies!
Great job, Deb! She is a natural!!

My Very First Shadow Box!

I bought this little shadow box 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 on the outside.
I got these at IKEA for like $3.00!! I should have bought a truck load, they make wonderful presents and keepsakes. I put this one in my husbands Easter basket.
The background is confetti cream CS stamped with choc chip ink with the Damask stamp from 24-7 stamp set. Then I used the decor element Love and adhered it to the front of the glass
HINT: Do not let your decor elements get to old and store them in room temperature climate. I got this 2yrs ago at leadership convention and it was a little difficult to transfer. I think I had this in the garage for a while hence it probably got to hot, so for us like to hoard things....its time to pull it all out and put it to use! This is a close up shot showing the stamped image from the Tiny Tags(118091) stamp set from the OMC $22.95 in brown stazon. then I took the large assorted brads and stamped on the choc chip ones with white stazon. Before stamping I cut off the back prongs so that the brads were flat and stamped and used pop glue dots(large ones, mold them into the brad) to adhere to the outside of the frame. I got this idea from a new stamping gal pal, i love to take credit but it was a suggestion from a very crafty girl! Thanks, you know who you are!
This is my favorite picture of Scott and I. I love how the Sepia tint to the photo blends so well with this design. It is simple but I think elegant.
I love IKEA, if you look in the SU catalog you will see they do too!

March Big Shot Club

Deb and Lynn are embellishing their Easter bunny's
Amy is embossing her square scallop mini album Leslie, Deb Hamlin, and Amy are making the very first Scallop Square chipboard mini Scrapbook
I first saw this design for the watering can on Inking Idaho, Becky Roberts blog and then the wonderful tutorial on my gal pal Patti Lee's blog from Creations by Patti Lee

This is made with the Milk carton die cut and Extra Large 2 Bird Punch
You use the wing on the punch to make the tulips. Then I cut 1/4" peices of celery CS for the grass and used the flower fusion sizzlit from SU for the flowers

This easter bunny was inspired by my other gal pal Kay on Creations on Paper!
You use the fancy favor die cut to make the box and use a top note for the face.
Punches:
Wide Oval,Large Oval, Scallop oval for hands(cut off three scallops) and wrap them around the designer label punch with the sentiment from Well Scripted words.
The heart punch for the nose, and the pats on the feet are 1/2" circle punch.
eyes are 1 3/8" circle and the 1" incle circle for the black on the eyes. I used a white gel pen on the top of the eyes
Then we filled it with Goodies.

I absolutely love this card. It uses the folk stencils from the OCM. I used the one from Razzle Dazzle using rich razzleberry ink with a dauber pouncing darkly on the outline of the stencil on kraft cardstock. then I used the EnFrancis background stamp. Razzleberry lemonade DP and then we did the faux gold embossing technique that can be found on SCS. This card was inspired by Stamping by the Sea's-Kim Van Dipen.
This is the Mother's Day Square Scallop chipboard scrapbook we made for Mother's Day.
The front uses the Oval Scallop Frame die cut stamped in white craft ink and white EP using the Fifth Avenue Floral and the Mothers day stamp in regal rose and certainly celery. The designer
Paper is from the Tea party series.

I used the top note in so saffron and turned it and cut it again to get the shape on the left page adding the butterflies from the embsslit, and the Oval Scallop Frame die for the picture bases.

Back page is the Scallop envelope die added some DP and used the 2 tag die cut to make a journal tag. TIP: Always use glue sticks to adhere the CS to the chipboard, apply the glue to the chipboard not the CS.

I would like to thank all the wonderful crafters who inspire my designs and I am truly humbled by their creativity.
